Now that I am a mother I have been thinking about Christmas family traditions and the memories I want my son to keep from our Christmas’ together. I’ve already bought Blue a copy of The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore to open on Christmas Eve, as my Dad used to read this story to me and my sister every year before we put out a glass of port and a mince pie for Father Christmas (alongside a carrot for Rudolph), hung up our stockings and then were sent unwillingly to bed, our stomachs tied in knots with excitement and expectation.
Another tradition was the Christmas outfit. Every year my mum would buy me and my sister something new to wear on Christmas Day which would then become our ‘party dress’ for as much of the following year as growing would allow. I had thought that this year I’d like to do something similar for Blue but I didn’t think he would appreciate a dress. I was going to look for a festive jumper that we could use for every Christmas party and gathering we have over the next few weeks that will still look as good as new on Christmas Day. Fortunately, I didn’t have to spend too long looking for the perfect Christmas jumper as Boden had rails of their snuggly-soft knits on display at Mumsnet BlogFest and I managed to find a gorgeous Christmas outfit from Mini Boden for my little man.
The Mini Boden Winter Jumper is a festive, bright red with lovely snowflake detail. The cotton/cashmere mix is soft and feels luxurious, with a satisfyingly chunky knit. It is the perfect Christmas jumper for babies and children 0-4 years old.
I teamed the jumper with some Mini Boden Lined Cord Trousers in cadet blue which are fully-lined, robust cord and fantastic quality; they will easily survive the Christmas party season and still look like new on Christmas Day. Blue loves the jumper and trousers and they are so cosy and comfortable that he is still happy to run about and explore.
Unfortunately, my Christmas shopping does not end here but at least I have made a great start and I always feel better once I have one thing ticked off the list. Thank you Mumsnet BlogFest for a fantastic day and thank you to Boden, one of the sponsors of Mumsnet BlogFest.
Disclosure: I bought my own ticket to Mumsnet BlogFest and the clothes referred to. My opinions are all my own.
